Sparsity-Sensitive Finite Abstraction

چکیده
Abstraction of a continuous-space model into a finite state and input dynamical model is a key step in formal controller synthesis tools. To date, these software tools have been limited to systems of modest size (typically ≤ 6 dimensions) because the abstraction procedure suffers from an exponential runtime with respect to the sum of state and input dimensions. We present a simple modification to the abstraction algorithm that dramatically reduces the computation time for systems exhibiting a sparse interconnection structure. This modified procedure recovers the same abstraction as the one computed by a brute force algorithm that disregards the sparsity. Examples highlight speed-ups from existing benchmarks in the literature, synthesis of a safety supervisory controller for a 12-dimensional and abstraction of a 51-dimensional vehicular traffic network.ion of a continuous-space model into a finite state and input dynamical model is a key step in formal controller synthesis tools. A NOVEL FUZZY-BASED SIMILARITY MEASURE FOR COLLABORATIVE FILTERING TO ALLEVIATE THE SPARSITY PROBLEM
Memory-based collaborative filtering is the most popular approach to build recommender systems. Despite its success in many applications, it still suffers from several major limitations, including data sparsity. Sparse data affect the quality of the user similarity measurement and consequently the quality of the recommender system. In this paper, we propose a novel user similarity measure based...
متن کاملZIDS: A Privacy-Preserving Intrusion Detection System Using Secure Two-Party Computation Protocols
We introduce ZIDS, a client-server solution for private detection of intrusions that is suitable for private detection of zero-day attacks in input data. The system includes an IDS server that has a set of sensitive signatures for zero-day attacks and IDS clients that possess some sensitive data (e.g. files, logs). Using ZIDS, each IDS client learns whether its input data matches any of the zer...
متن کاملHydrogen Abstraction Reaction of Hydroxyl Radical with 1,1-Dibromoethane and 1,2-Dibromoethane Studied by Using Semi-Classical Transition State Theory
The hydrogen abstraction reaction by OH radical from CH2BrCH2Br (R1) and CH₃CHBr2 (R2) is investigated theoretically by semi-classical transition state theory. The stationary points for both reactions are located by using ωB97X-D and KMLYP density functional methods along with cc-pVTZ basis. Single-point energy calculations are performed at the QCISD(T) and CCSD(T) levels of theory with differe...

Sparsity optimized high order finite element functions on simplices
This article reports several results on sparsity optimized basis functions for hp-FEM on triangular and tetrahedral finite element meshes obtained within the Special Research Program “Numerical and Symbolic Scientific Computing” and within the Doctoral Program “Computational Mathematics” both supported by the Austrian Science Fund FWF under the grants SFB F013 and DK W1214, respectively. We giv...
